The 2012 Regional Sessions are your chance to get to know the EYP. We provide a formal framework for delegates to spend the day discussing current issues of international politics in English. The structure, based on parliamentary practice at our other national and international events will be as follows:
Teambuilding and General Assembly Preparation
During this introduction to the session, the delegates will be led through a short Teambuilding process by their Chairperson (one of our experienced alumni). Since the Regional Sessions are only one day long, delegations will stay in their delegation, guided by a Chairperson for the day. Their Chair will continue by running over the General Assembly procedure with them.
General Assembly
The main section of the session, General Assembly is the plenary debate of each committee’s resolution. Around four weeks before the session, each delegation will be sent a committee topic and two different resolutions on the subject. The delegation is free to choose which of the resolutions they want to defend in the debate. The debates themselves will be held according to standard EYP order of debate.
Guest speakers
At different sessions, different speakers of interest to you will be invited to contribute to a day full of politics. More details about the respective speakers will be announced on the specific pages for the four Regional Sessions shortly.
