Who’s who

Chairpersons

The Chairpersons guide the delegates through Teambuilding and  General Assembly. As experienced members of the EYP, they act as facilitators within the Committees and lead the students through both teambuilding at the parliamentary debate in General Assembly.

Organisers

The Organisers prepare the sessions on a logistical level and are responsible for their smooth running on the day. EYP sessions are organised by teams of committed young people on a voluntary basis to provide other students with the positive EYP experience they themselves enjoyed.

Session Board

The board consists of the President and the two Vice-Presidents of the session. They lead the chairs and delegates through the debate and the voting procedure, taking care to adhere to parliamentary procedure whilst balancing speaking rights amongst all of the speakers. As the most experienced members of the team, they serve also to advise and mentor the chairs before and during the session.

Delegates

The delegates (students from the participating schools) are the key participants -the ones for whom the EYP session is organised. During the Regional Sessions, they defend their resolutions using their debating skills during General Assembly. At longer EYP events such as national and international sessions, they are divided into Committees, where they draft their own resolution during Committee Work before debating it in General Assembly.
